How To Get Started
Sessions are 45-50 minutes in length, and I recommend that we meet once per week, on the same day and time each week, so you keep the momentum going to reach the goals you set for yourself. If money is VERY tight, it is possible to meet every-other-week, but I think this slows down your momentum in treatment. Your rights are protected by my full compliance with the laws of the State of California and with the Codes of Ethics as a member of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, the National Association of Social Workers, the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists, the California Welfare & Institutions Code, and federal HIPAA laws.
Directions:
I’m conveniently located in the heart of West Hollywood at the southwest corner of Santa Monica Boulevard at Croft Avenue, which is two blocks east of La Cienega, across the street from the old landmark restaurant, Barney’s Beanery, and right across from the veterans memorial park fountain, at 8430 Santa Monica Boulevard, Suite 100, West Hollywood, 90069.
Parking is at meters either in front of the building on Santa Monica Boulevard, or around the corner to the south on Croft, so bring coins for the meter. There is more parking farther south on Croft Avenue, but watch the signs for the short “permit only after 7pm” section and for street cleaning signs. My office is convenient to your other errands such as 24 Hour Fitness, CVS, Capitol Drugs/Power Zone, Starbucks, Irish Coffee House, BioScrip Pharmacy, Hugo’s, Basix Cafe, and Gelson’s Market.
Suite 100 is inside the double glass doors, the last suite on your right on the first floor. Just have a seat in the waiting room and relax (don’t knock on my door, please) and I will come get you. (I share the suite with Barry Cardiner, MFT, another therapist). I will give you some “intake” forms to fill out later at home.
Your Confidentiality is Assured
My office is sound-proofed for your privacy and confidentiality (except for certain legal emergency exceptions, which we can discuss), with lots of natural light. There are back issues of my bi-monthly newsletter, “Have the Life You Want,” and other reading materials that range from inspirational articles on various topics to the latest issue of People magazine, as well as a sample copy of my book, “Self-Empowerment: Have the Life You Want!” for your entertainment before we begin your session. The restroom is down the hall on the first floor, on the left, and the key to the restroom is kept on the bookshelf just to the right of the office door on a blue plastic keychain.
